Through a comprehensive curriculum, we aim to challenge and inspire our learners to reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Health and Safety Protocols:
The health and safety of our learners, staff, and families remain our top priority. Yulia Ko
"Hello, I am Yulia Ko, the new year 1/2 teacher. I moved from Berri with my family - Mr.Ko, a teacher at PASS, 3-year-old Gemma, and one-year-old Ted. I have also taught at Ceduna Area School.
I love spending time with my family and building with Lego blocks; I love to read and play the piano.
I look forward to engaging with all learners, families, and the broader community of Quorn."
Jorja Winen
I grew up on the Yorke Peninsula and am now based in Wilmington. My favorite hobbies are creating art, playing tennis, and camping. I look forward to being a part of the Quorn Area School community as an SSO.
Regards,
Jorja
Nardean Munchenberg
Hello,
My husband and I have been part-time residents of Quorn since 2020 but decided to make the move permanent when he retired at the end of 2023. I was initially planning on taking leave for the first six months of the year, but I changed my plans when the position of English / HASS teacher at Quorn Area School came up. I am excited to have won the role and am very much looking forward to being part of the school community for the next twelve months.
I began my teaching career at John Pirie Secondary School in Port Pirie, where I spent seven amazing years before returning to Adelaide and teaching at Salisbury East High School and, most recently, at Banksia Park International High School. My teaching areas are English, HASS, and Psychology, although I have dabbled in other subjects when the needs of the school are demanded.
Outside of work, my interests include sewing, in particular sashiko, traditional Japanese stitching, and quilting, although finding the time for either is complex, reading, walking, especially with our dog Miss Fudge, traveling and volunteering, as well as training our 12-week-old puppy Taffy.
I look forward to the challenges and opportunities the year ahead holds; to meeting the students of Quorn Area School and becoming part of the wider Quorn Community.

Tiffany Yeung
I'm Tiffany Yeung, or as some of you may already know me, Miss Y. I am beyond thrilled to have become a part of the vibrant community here in Quorn. I made the move from Sydney in January and am now serving as a teacher in Maths and Sciences, specializing in Psychology and Biology.
Beyond the academic realm, you might catch me expressing my love for Hello Kitty and Disney Princesses. They always bring joy and playfulness to my life, and I aspire to infuse that same sense of joy into our classroom.
I am genuinely excited to embark on this next stage of my life here in Quorn and am happy to serve this wonderful community. Don't hesitate to say hi when you see me around!
Warm regards,
Miss Y

Week three, and there is already so much to share,
Student Leadership
Building on their introduction at the end of last year, we introduced Quorn Area School’s Student Leadership Team on Friday of Week 1.
Leading this esteemed team are our 2024 Prefects, Mia Crisp and Ella Holtham, whom I look forward to working alongside to implement various initiatives to enhance the overall educational experience for every learner.
The responsibilities of the Student Leadership Team are varied and crucial. From representing the student body in essential discussions to organizing events that promote camaraderie and school spirit, these students have accepted the challenge with enthusiasm and a profound sense of duty. Their goal is to ensure that every student's voice is heard and that their concerns are addressed with the utmost diligence.
There was a common theme among the individual speeches: Let's lead by example and inspire each other to reach new heights!
Swimming Carnival
Congratulations to the 2024 QAS Swimming Carnival champions, Kanyaka Sharks! It was a close finish! Once again, I would like to thank every swimmer who had a go and contributed to their team's house points. Your participation and dedication are invaluable, reminding us that every point counts, but more importantly, your contribution makes a team.
Speaking of teamwork, I want to thank all the volunteers who put their hands up to take on a job that ensured the smooth running of the carnival. Many of you turn up year after year, and your efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are immensely grateful for your support.
Thank you to our QAS staff for facilitating activities and keeping our learners safe.
Congratulations to our age group champions for their outstanding performances. Your determination and skill have set a remarkable example for your peers.

Welcome back for 2024! We have many exciting learning opportunities planned for this year, starting with the Zoo Snooze camp for Years 4-9 next week.
Foundation Class
I want to introduce our new Foundations to QAS: Alexander, Annie, Dominic, Declan, Mason, Calais, Kiyanna, Sandy, Will, Nate, Jasper, and Jack. They have settled in fantastically.
In Numeracy, we have been getting to know our Numicon program. We have been working on describing and naming the Numicon Shapes and Numicon Rods. To get to know the rods, we made pictures and described what we used to make them. We have also started looking at patterns and repeating patterns.
